A day of interactive workshops for those working in a child-related organisation to better understand and implement the Child Safe Scheme.

Learn more about the Child Safe Scheme and how to further implement strategies to keep children and young people safe from harm and abuse.

9:30am - 11:00am - Child Safe Overview and Risk Management

  • The Child Safe Overview and Risk Management workshop will provide a reintroduction of the Child Safe Scheme, and is tailored to leaders and frontline staff to focus on risk identification and preventative strategies. The principles are adaptable to the individual circumstances of your organisation or programs.

10:30am - 11:00am - Morning tea and networking

  • An opportunity to network with other organisations in the area to discuss your child safe journey.

11:00am - 12:00pm - Standards in practice and Q & A - Guest Speaker (TBC)

  • Hear from a local child safe organisation on how they put the Child Safe Standards into practice, offering real life advice. This will also provide you an opportunity to ask questions on how they overcame their challenges in implementation.

12:00pm - 1:00pm - Lunch

  • Lunch is not provided, but there are a number of options close by.

1:00pm - 2:15pm - Importance of Code of Conduct and Reporting culture

  • In this workshop we will explain reporting obligations so that participants can better understand what to report, how to report and who they need to report to. Participants will also learn how to respond to disclosures, create a culture of reporting and develop a Child Safe Reporting Policy.

2:15pm - 2:30pm - Afternoon tea

  • A quick break and another chance to network with other organisations in the area to discuss your child safe journey.

2:30pm - 3:30pm - Child Safe Recruitment

  • This session will equip leaders and staff to understand child safe recruitment practices and staffing and apply best practice principles within their organisation's context.

3:30pm - 4:00pm - Open Q&A

  • An opportunity to ask any questions you may have from the day, or specific information on child safe topics you would like to put forward for more information.

We encourage participants to attend all sessions to strengthen your child safe knowledge.

How to renew using digital proof of identity (POI)

You will need:

  • A MyServiceNSW account with the WWCC service added
  • 3 current identity documents including a NSW driver licence or photo card
  • a device with a working front camera for face verification.


If you're renewing a paid WWCC, you will also need a credit card, debit card, PayPal or PayID account.

If you have an expired WWCC clearance or have changed your name on your identity documents since the last time you renewed your WWCC, you can't renew using digital proof of identity.
