In NSW child-related organisations must put the Child Safe Standards into action to better prevent and respond to child abuse.

Organisations under the Child Safe Scheme must use the Standards through their systems, policies and processes. The Scheme encourages ongoing improvement rather than occasional leaps in progress.

Some NSW Government agencies must also develop a child safe strategy for their child-related services and those they fund or regulate. This is called a Child Safe Action Plan.
