It is a Commonwealth Government requirement that certain workers delivering supports or services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) must have a worker screening clearance. In NSW, this is called the NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) and it is administered by the Office of the Children's Guardian.

Government closedown period 23 December to 3 January 2025

During the closedown period:

  • you can complete the online application for an NDIS Worker Check via your MyServiceNSW account (website only, not mobile phone app)
  • you can visit a Service NSW centre to pay the application fee, have your photo taken, and your identity documents verified (check the Service NSW website for opening hours)
  • any applications submitted during this time, will then progress further once we return from Monday, 6 January 2025
  • you can complete other transactions online 24/7 using your MyServiceNSW account (website only, not the mobile phone app)
    • This includes viewing your NDIS Worker Check status and updating your contact details
  • we will not respond to any email queries sent to us. We will action any emails from Monday, 6 January 2025.

You can now renew your WWCC by using digital proof of identity – no need to visit a Service NSW Centre.
How to renew using digital proof of identity (POI)

You will need:

  • A MyServiceNSW account with the WWCC service added
  • 3 current identity documents including a NSW driver licence or photo card
  • a device with a working front camera for face verification.

If you're renewing a paid WWCC, you will also need a credit card, debit card, PayPal or PayID account.

If you have an expired WWCC clearance or have changed your name on your identity documents since the last time you renewed your WWCC, you can't renew using digital proof of identity.
