Learn more about the Child Safe Scheme and how to further implement strategies to keep children and young people safe from harm and abuse.

The day will be broken into 3 workshop sessions:

9:30am - 11:00am - Child Safe Risk Management

  • The Child Safe Risk Management workshop is tailored to leaders and frontline staff to focus on risk identification and preventative strategies. The principles are adaptable to the individual circumstances of your organisation or programs.

11:30am - 1:00pm - Child Safe Recruitment

  • This session will equip leaders and staff to understand child safe recruitment practices and staffing and apply best practice principles within their organisation's context.

2:00pm - 3:30pm - Child Safe Guide to Empowerment and Participation

  • In this workshop we will look at engaging ways to empower children and young people in decision making in your organisation. This is an opportunity to share ideas big and small on how to engage with children of all ages in appropriate activities.

We encourage participants to attend all sessions to strengthen your child safe knowledge.

For more information, please contact the Child Safe team at childsafe@ocg.nsw.gov.au.

Individual consultations also available: Register for a consultation with a Child Safe Officer
