This session is an overview of Specialised Substitute Residential Care (SSRC) for providers and their staff.
This event has finished. Visit our Contact Us page if you have questions.
When a parent makes an arrangement with an organisation for their child to receive overnight respite care or behaviour support for 3 or more nights in a 7-day period outside of the family home in NSW, this is legally known as specialised substitute residential care. Any organisation that provides this type of care falls under the Child Safe Scheme and must follow a code of practice.
This session covers key requirements including:
- what SSRC is and what is not included
- organisational obligations, including the 10 Child Safe Standards and SSRC Code of Practice
- day-to-day obligations, including the SSRC Register
- the OCG’s monitoring framework
- resources and help available.
This webinar includes participation activities, so we highly recommend downloading the Guide to the Child Safe Standards and SSRC Code of Practice from our website and familiarising yourself with their content. We will be referring to these throughout the session and in the activities.
