Developing a risk management plan

This session is for workers in Specialised Substitute Residential Care (SSRC) who are responsible for developing and understanding child safety within their organisation.

The 10 Child Safe Standards were enacted into legislation in NSW on 1 February 2022. They provide a framework for organisations to create and maintain environments that support children and young people to feel and be safe, and for organisations to meet their legal obligations under the Child Safe Scheme. The SSRC Code of Practice also requires risk management plans for SSRC organisations and for children in overnight placements.

Risk management helps organisations improve their child safe practices. A core component of Standard One is: ‘Risk management strategies focus on preventing, identifying and mitigating risks to children’. Leaders are responsible for keeping children safe in their organisations. This webinar will help you develop the risk management strategies using two risk management handbooks.
