The Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 outlines offences for individuals and organisations to ensure compliance with the scheme.

Our approach to compliance is to first educate people and employers about their responsibilities under the Working with Children Check. But we can also issue penalties under the scheme and must refer some matters to NSW Police or the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The consultation is open until Friday 22 July.

More information, including our consultation paper, is available on the NSW Government Have your say website.
