Empowerment and participation - face to face

Who it's for

Our session on how to empower young people is for everyone who works with children.

What we'll cover

As part of the Child Safe Scheme, all child-related organisations in NSW should apply the Child Safe Standards. Standard 2 is about making sure ‘children participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously’.

Our child safe trainers will take you through the practical skills that can help your organisation empower children and young people to speak up in your organisation, particularly around what makes them feel safe or unsafe when they are in your care.

To complement the session, download our Empowerment and Participation handbook (PDF, 9.03MB) (PDF, 9 MB).

For more information, please contact our Child Safe Team.
