Meaning

A Working with Children Check application is being processed.

In most cases the applicant may work with children. However, some roles, specifically teachers and early childhood education and care workers, must have a valid clearance before starting work, and cannot work with children until their clearance is granted.

If the applicant becomes barred or is not cleared to work with children, the Office of the Children's Guardian will contact you and advise you of what to do next.

What should I do?

You must verify their clearance once the employee receives their Working with Children Check number.

You must keep a record of the employee’s Working with Children Check details, including the worker’s full name and date of birth, their Working with Children Check clearance or application number and the expiry date of the clearance.
