Decide if you, your workers or volunteers need a Check. Employers and organisations need to decide who engages in child-related work and requires a Working with Children Check, or if any roles fall under an exemption.
Some NSW Government agencies must develop and report on Child Safe Action Plans. These are strategic plans that clearly detail how these agencies will influence change across their sectors, noting their authority as sector leaders. The plans promote sector-wide reform, building awareness of child safety and embedding the Child Safe Standards across existing regulatory schemes.
In February 2022, new laws were introduced to create the NSW Child Safe Scheme. These laws aim to make sure that organisations in NSW are doing everything they can to keep children safe.
