Sole traders
Sole traders may be independent workers such as tutors, coaches or entertainers who need to have their Check verified by clients.
Steps to employing children
Use the following as a checklist in the lead up to employing children and young people. Employment activities include things done to prepare for a performance such as costume fittings, a meet and greet, publicity and rehearsals.
Authority to employ children
The person responsible for casting and giving directions to the child is required to hold an authority to employ children. Authorities are valid for either one week, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months.
Who is responsible when employing children
The employer is the person who has some level of responsibility for casting the child and giving directions on what the child is required to do.
The responsible person must hold an authority to employ children and work within the Children's Guardian Regulations.
Official Community Visitors
Official Community Visitors visit accommodation services for children and young people, people with disability and people living in assisted boarding houses, throughout NSW.
You will need:
- A MyServiceNSW account with the WWCC service added
- 3 current identity documents including a NSW driver licence or photo card
- a device with a working front camera for face verification.
If you're renewing a paid WWCC, you will also need a credit card, debit card, PayPal or PayID account.
If you have an expired WWCC clearance or have changed your name on your identity documents since the last time you renewed your WWCC, you can't renew using digital proof of identity.
