You must keep your personal details up to date so that you can be contacted about your Working with Children Check (WWCC). This includes your name, address, phone or email address.
Updating your personal details
To update your personal details, you need your WWCC clearance number and your name exactly as you submitted on your WWCC application.
When you update your personal details you will be sent a confirmation email. Remember to check your junk or spam folders.
If you have changed your name, you will need to attend a Service NSW Centre to have your new identification verified.
If you can't find your Check number:
- Search your email inbox for the email notification you received when your WWC number was issued. Search for "WWCCNotification"
- Retrieve it online. Enter your name, date of birth and driver licence number or application number to retrieve your WWCC number. An email notification will be sent to your previously provided email address confirming your number and expiry date.
Upgrading your WWCC clearance to paid
People engaged in paid child-related work must hold a paid WWCC clearance.
If you hold a volunteer WWCC clearance and start paid child-related work, you are required by law to upgrade your WWCC clearance to paid.
You must do this within 30 days of starting paid work.
To upgrade your WWCC clearance to paid, complete our online form. You will need to visit Service NSW to pay your fee.
Upgrade applications go through the same screening process as new and renewal WWCC applications. Please allow at least 4 weeks from verifying your identity before contacting us about your upgrade application.
