End-of-quarter NSW Residential Care Workers register statistics – 31 March 2025.

Summary

These are the quarterly figures for Q3 2024/25. Residential Care Workers Register Go-live date was 18 July 2022.

The data refers to currently engaged workers (recorded with an 'engaged' status on the register).

  • GO LIVE date 18 July 2022

  • 24 of 70 NGOs are Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCO), 41 NGOs are accredited for Residential Care

  • 21% (was 22%) of current engagements are Back Capture* entries (2527 of 12313)

  • 30% (was 31%) of current engagements are staff sourced from Labour Hire agencies, across 31 (was 29) agencies

  • 16% (no change) of currently engaged individuals work for multiple agencies, across 53 (was 51) agencies

  • 9.5% (was 9.1%) of currently engaged individuals identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Of these, 31% (278 of 911) are engaged with ACCOs (was 27%)

  • 60.9% of currently engaged individuals identify as female, 38.9% as male, 0.2% as X
            

* Back Capture engagements are those which had commenced prior to Register launch

** Multiple agency associations means the worker is engaged by more than one agency

The data for each quarter is a point in time, reflecting the figures on the register as at the time the data was run for that quarter. The data is therefore not cumulative as such, as changes to records over time may impact the figures in previous quarters, if the data for those quarters was re-run at a future date.

There are 1070 workers engaged through labour hire in DCJ and 2572 in NGOs.

Multiple associations

DCJ has 571 individuals with only one agency and 593 with multiple agencies. NGOs have 7433 individuals with only one agency and 1548 with multiple agencies.
